The General Data Protection Regulation started out an just an EU regulation guiding the movement and handling of data in organisations. From the 25th of May 2018 this will come in to effect. At its core if a data breach occurs you need to report it within 72 hours of it’s inception and face the consequences. Potentially up to 4% of your annual turnover could be issued as a fine.
Since the start of the year we have seen our partners Microsoft and Cisco discuss GDPR as a Global Data Protection Regulation and about employing best practice for the digital aspect of data handling in your business.
GDPR is not solely an IT issue but with our support and knowledge in the matter we can help your business and team become more aware of GDPR and advise you on best practice and implement risk mitigations to prevent data breaches and the inevitable fines that come as a result.
